contemporary RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT in CHESTERFIELD
Status – Working towards a Planning Application
Brightman Clarke Architects we were appointed to design a small development of three high specification houses in the Mastin Moor area of Chesterfield. The site currently occupies a single dwelling on a large site, which will be demolished to in-fill a gap in the street scene and complete this small ribbon development.
The site and its immediate surrounding contain an eclectic mix of architectural styles and building materials. The main driving force behind the design is to create a small housing development which has a set of similar houses but yet varies the palette slightly to match the varied site context.
The site is located at the edge of a village development and near open countryside, so keeping existing TPO trees and providing a suitable site composition was key to a successful design.
