In 2026, Brightman Clarke Architects celebrates its 10th year in practice.
To mark this milestone, we’re starting the year by opening our diary for a limited number of complimentary one-hour design consultations throughout January.
These sessions are designed for homeowners who are seriously considering reconfiguring or extending their home and want clear, professional guidance before committing to the next step.

The Christmas and New Year period often brings a change of pace.
When family and friends come together, the limitations of a home can become more apparent. Spaces feel tighter, routines are disrupted, and it becomes clear that while you may love the location, the house no longer works as well as it once did for everyday family life.
Once the festivities are over, many people say, “never again” and feel ready to take action. The question is often where to start. If this sounds familiar, you’re certainly not alone. Over the last ten years, many of our most thoughtful enquiries arrive in the New Year, prompted by exactly these moments of reflection.
We find the best place to begin is with a calmer, considered conversation about what could change. Exploring how reconfiguring or extending your home might create the space you need for the years ahead often feels like a natural and welcome next step.

What happens in a January Design Consultation?
Each consultation lasts up to one hour and is led by one of our directors.
During the session, together, we will:
Discuss how your home currently works and where it falls short.
We'll explore options for reconfiguring, extending, or building new.
Talk through planning considerations and likely constraints.
Offer honest, professional insight based on our experience.
The aim is not to produce drawings, but to give you clarity and confidence about whether — and how — to move forward.
Who are these sessions for?
These consultations are best suited to homeowners who are:
Considering a meaningful extension, internal reconfiguration or a new build.
Living within one hour of Sheffield (further away - happy to meet via Zoom)
Looking to understand what is possible before committing to design work
Planning ahead for a project later in 2026
Seeking professional advice early in the process
If you’re at the very beginning, or have been living with ideas for a while but haven’t quite taken the first step, this session is designed for you.
A limited January offer — at your home or via Zoom.
Spaces are limited, with complimentary consultations available throughout January.
These free consultations are designed for homeowners within an hour’s drive of Sheffield who are planning a significant internal reconfiguration, extension, or new-build project, with an anticipated construction budget of £100k or more (£200k+ for new builds).
If you have a similar project in mind but are based further afield, within the North or the Midlands, don’t worry — we would still be delighted to help. We can begin with a Zoom consultation to explore things together.
